Our fees

Our planners charge a fixed fee-for-service, where all the fees you pay are agreed to in advance before any personal advice is given. This means you know up-front how much our advice will cost. We don’t charge commissions* so you can be sure that there are no hidden fees.

We charge $220 per hour. This fee is paid for the time it takes us to prepare, present and implement your financial plan. How many hours you pay for depends on the complexity of the advice you need as illustrated in the examples below. Example of the value of advice (PDF, 65 kB, Oct 08)

Your initial fact finding consultation with your financial planner is free - no cost, no obligation. During this session your planner will find out what your financial objectives are and what type of advice you’ll need. You will also get a quote on what the advice would cost you, should you decide you want a financial plan. Book an appointment

Full financial plan

A full plan might include advice on multiple issues, such as Transition to Retirement, Super Income Streams (Pensions), tax planning, wealth creation, insurance, Centrelink, redundancy and/or estate planning.

A full plan takes at least 10 hours to prepare, depending on the complexity of your personal financial situation.

Partial advice / limited plan

A limited plan usually only covers one or two topics, e.g. super contributions, and can be prepared fairly quickly.

Generally this type of plan takes between 2 – 10 hours to prepare, depending on the issues you need advice on.

* IFFP does not accept commissions (either upfront or ongoing). If IFFP receives commissions from the product issuer they will be rebated to your account. Many other financial planners receive trail commissions and other benefits for recommending you a certain product and this could influence their advice. They might also charge you initial plus ongoing commission for investing in a product, and this can end up being very costly. Compare fee-for-service and commission based fees
